Pumpkin Apocalypse

So a few years ago, there was a pumpkin shortage. Most of you probably didn’t notice, but Greg and I did. That year we had trouble finding canned pumpkin for our baked goods and snatched up any can of pumpkin we could find. The habit stuck and we still do that. Right now, we have five cans of pumpkin in our pantry and we’ve already made pumpkin pancakes this week (which means we used to have more pumpkin). Today, I plan to make pumpkin oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

We did have a brief discussion about surviving the apocalypse on canned pumpkin because we have very specific hoarding habits. So if you’re raiding us in a post-apocalyptic world, I hope you like pumpkin…and tuna.
